It’s never too early to start learning how to care for our teeth. For parents, it’s important to instill positive dental care habits from an early age to the kids. However, kids love to eat sweet and sugary foods which can cause baby teeth problems. Baby tooth or milk tooth decay can make it difficult for the baby to eat and chew, as well as make them lazy to eat. If baby tooth decay is not properly treated, tooth development can be hampered, leading to damage of the permanent tooth underneath. Hence, here’s what parents can do to teach and guide your children on how to take care their own teeth:

1. Introduce them to toothbrushing from early age

As soon as the first baby teeth appear, familiarize your kids with toothbrushing activity and choose the most suitable brush for your little one. By starting early, your kids get used to the daily routine. To start off, simply wet the toothbrush with water, then slowly and carefully rub it on the newly grown teeth. Kodomo Toothbrush with cute characters and colors is perfectly designed for kids, it fits the shape of kids’ mouth well. The toothbrush comes with a soft modern filament that safe for teeth and gums, and a non-slip handle with the perfect length for children's hands.

2. Brush teeth twice a day

It’s important to teach our kids to brush their teeth at least twice a day, in the morning and just before bed time. Why in the morning? It’s to remove overnight bacteria that built up in the mouth and it’s a good way to start the day. While at night, before going to bed, brushing is to clean your teeth and gums from all the bad bacteria that has been accumulated throughout the day.

3. Lead your children by example

Let the kids see you, the parents, brushing your teeth properly. In fact, make it a habit of brushing your teeth together with them. Parents can show and give them an example of how to brush their teeth properly. Therefore, kids will follow this good habit that they have seen from their parents.

You can provide Kodomo Toothbrush 2in1 for the kids. It consists of a toothbrush, a toothpaste, and an interactive toy for kids, perfect for giving them a reward to mark a good habit and successful cleaning. Apart from the fruity flavor that kids love, Kodomo toothpaste is enriched with Xylitol, Active Fluoride, and Anti-Bacteria, which are effective in preventing cavities and maintaining healthy gums.

4. Regular dental visits

Positive dental care habits also include regular dental visits, at least once in every 6 months. This way, a dentist can monitor your kids’ overall oral health and hygiene habits, and also catch minor issues early before it becomes serious problems. These dental appointments can also help to establish a trust and relaxed approach between kids and dentists in the future.
